More and more Chromebooks that can leverage Android apps are developers who can build apps that fit well with small laptops with Chrome OS: Google’s latest move in this regard seems to be publishing a Chrome OS emulator for the Android SDK.
The availability of an emulator will allow developers not in possession of a Chromebook to be able to test their applications by simply taking advantage of the Android SDK. Google should therefore soon make Chrome OS image files available to allow you to use an emulator during the development phase.
The emulator should be available for all Chrome OS (Stable, Beta, Dev, and Canary) channels on Windows, Mac, and Linux; for the moment images should only be released for x86 architectures, so we will have to wait for them to test applications on ARM architecture-based Chromebooks.
