Today, TIM Open Hackathon, the coding marathon for the development of innovative applications in the insurance / banking / legal and media / entertainment / gaming domains, is scheduled to open on 4 and 5 November in Milan. The challenge, promoted in collaboration with Cisco, Sopra Steria, Axway, CartaSi, Kaspersky Lab and Ingram Micro, will involve developers, web designers, user experience and marketing experts who will be able to use APIs (Application Programming Interface) made available by TIM and partner on the TIM Open platform to identify new application solutions or integration with existing solutions. API exposure, through an ever-rich catalog portal, is in fact an important component of the software development tool available on TIM Open. The available features include, for example, sending One Time Password via SMS for user authentication, the ability to provide georeferenced information and real-time communication.
The initiative, built with Tree support, also benefits from TIM #Wcap Accelerator’s consolidated experience in implementing Open Innovation projects: participants will be assisted by mentors and experts who will support all phases, from conceptualization to presentation of solutions.
The best ideas will be selected by a jury composed of managers and ICT experts who will evaluate team composition, innovation, the degree of achievability of the proposal, design, experience of use, and business model.
The three best projects will be awarded with good buy value of 5,000, 2,500 and 1,500 euros. In addition, the team with the most innovative payment experience will be given a special prize by CartaSi: a two-day weekend in Stockholm and a one-year free XPay service for a total value of € 2,000.
TIM Open Hackathon will take place on Saturday 4 and Sunday, 5 November at the TIM #Wcap Accelerator in Magolfa 8, Milan. Participation in the event is free, to subscribe simply complete the form on www.treehack.it/timopenhackathon.
