Apple has not said it, but the iPhone 8 has a smaller battery than the iPhone 7

You noticed how Apple passed quickly on the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus last Tuesday, and this to linger on the iPhone X? The Cupertino company did not do in detail and it was not until the listing of the TENAA (certification body of smartphones in China) to know the capacity of the batteries of the new iPhone. And they are smaller than those of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.

Less battery for as much autonomy

The TENAA card of the iPhone 8 indeed indicates that the smartphone embeds a battery of 1821 mAh, smaller than that of the iPhone 7 (1960 mAh). Same song for the iPhone 8 Plus, which has a battery of 2675 mAh against 2900 mAh for the iPhone 7 Plus.

This represents a loss of autonomy, on paper. Yet on its official website, Apple says that the iPhone 8 has a “autonomy roughly equivalent to that of the iPhone 7”, without however entering a quantified estimate. But it can be assumed that the new A11 Bionic chip (engraved in 10 nanometers and therefore more energy efficient) allows the company to maintain the same battery life using a less powerful battery on paper.

Note that these chargers are less powerful, but nevertheless have fast charging. A quick charge you can use … by buying a charger sold separately. Sacred Apple …

Finally, the TENAA card of the smartphone also told us that the iPhone 8 had 2 GB of RAM while the iPhone 8 Plus had 3 GB of RAM.
