It was clear that the Apple Watch Series 3 with LTE will come to certain pitfalls. They are getting more and more slowly. The new Apple Watch naturally requires minimal an iPhone to run. It will not be possible without it. And here is not every, because the prerequisite is at least iOS 11 and at least an iPhone 6. The connection – here is Telekom exclusive partner – works only with an additional MultiSIM in a Magenta mobile tariff with the Telekom. So far so good.
Apple watches purchased abroad will not work here, because Apple has on the one hand a Rigel has advanced, on the other hand the LTE frequencies not completely covered. We had expected that too. What astonishes us, however, is the fact that the Apple Watch is not an LTE, yes no mobile network abroad can use. This means that these functionalities even missed a vacation in the EU countries, where additional roaming charges were abolished. We might well imagine that this restriction does not necessarily come to the attention of the guardians of the EU supervisory authorities.
The above-advertised by Apple (according to JFK) will make the Apple Watch equally less functional. In any case, we hope that they do not bother you with error messages, because they want to automatically log into the net without connecting to the smartphone.
