Statistics: The average smartphone is two years old

There is new data on the smartphone use worldwide from DeviceAtlas. A few things surprise you a bit, but some you really did not expect otherwise. Qualcomm still sells the most chips, but Samsung and Mediatek are tight. The most common is Smarphones with Exynos 7 Octa and Snapdragon 410 and 1-2GB RAM. The iPhone 6 is the most used among the Apple smartphones but Android is now predominant in 60 of 72 countries.

In Germany, by the way , the Apple chips A9 are the same in the Exynos 7 Octa ( in Samsung Note 4, Note 5, S6, J7, S5 Neo, A3 (2017), A5 (2016, 2017), A7 (2016, 2017) ) ( iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone SE, iPad (2017) ) and A8 ( iPhone 6, 6Plus, iPad mini 4, iPod touch 6.Gen) most popular. Particularly surprised, however, has been that the most used screen size is 4.7 inches and most smartphones come from 2015. This is also the case in Germany where the smartphones from 2014 are not as far from those in 2016 and just over one percent already have a smartphone from this year. In the case of smartphones purchased before 2013, the traffic in Germany is still above 7%. Surprisingly, it is less then that most smartphone (also with us is so) with a resolution of 360×640 therefore come and also really nothing at least close to 720p at all a front place gets.

The most popular single model but still the Galaxy S7 Edge, followed by the S6 Edge and the S5. Without Edge is probably with us hardly anything. But also all of Europe is firmly in the Samsung hand with only the Huawei P8 Lite and Moto G (Poland and Ireland) on a respectable second place. In Africa, Tecno appears to be an alternative brand, while China is dominated by domestic brands: Xiaomi, Oppo, Huawei.

I'm an avid gamer and a bit of a Ninja when it comes to gadgets and technology. When I'm not busy with the latest Android and iOS games.
