The cleanup process in iTunes continues. After the educational offerings of “iTunes U” have already been moved from the desktop app into the podcast client, Apple with Version 12.7 – just released for download – separates from the possibility to manage iOS apps also on the desktop. This has been so far, of course, already on the iPhone and iPad possible, the doubling in iTunes on the Mac or Windows computer appears for a long time superfluous, especially since iTunes as app in the past with more and more features was provided and accordingly sluggish and also increasingly became unclear.
The App Store has been reworked for iOS 11 – starting next Tuesday – and is hopefully better. Ringtones will also be managed via the iOS devices in the future.
