Google has released new statistics for the Android distribution. The Android 8.0 Oreo (Test) released three weeks ago has not yet made it into the statistics, but a slight trend can be seen in the right direction. Because only versions from Android 7.0 Nougat (Test) have added.
Android 8.0 Oreo does not yet appear in the statistics, because it has not been installed in at least 0.1 percent of all devices in the three weeks since the release. Only from this threshold does Google take an operating system into its Android statistics. The update for a few Pixels and Nexus smartphones and tablets as well as the Nexus Player is obviously not enough for that.
Marshmallow remains the strongest force
Android 7.0 Nougat has climbed from 12.3 to 14.2 percent market share in September, with 7.1, there is a slight increase from 1.2 percent to 1.6 percent. However, the two-year-old Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which dominates 32.2 per cent, accounts for almost one-third of the market.
Google determines the market shares through the accesses to the Play Store over a period of seven days. Devices without Play-Store access are not counted.
