Vertiv , formerly Emerson Network Power, today released an upgraded version of Trellis Power Insight, a data center management application designed to provide a comprehensive, centralized and UPS monitoring and networked server monitoring system. This solution provides a complete set of alarms, notifications, and automatic actions that now also include controlled shutdown of servers. The software is included in the Liebert UPS systems and there are over 500 users who are already using this global application.
Trellis Power Insight simplifies the management of the environment of the current evolving data centers and ensures automatic detection of new devices, compatibility and integration with a wide range of Liebert UPS systems , while also providing the best control capability thanks to an advanced touchscreen as a user interface installed on the UPS.
“Given the growing complexity of data center management, Vertiv is committed to deploying solutions that help you manage resources more efficiently and easily,” said John Curran, vice president of product management at Vertiv . “This new Trellis Power Insight enhancement improves user management capabilities, including remote management of deployed IT environments, and the ability to shut down servers neatly in the event of power failure. All this benefits the work of UPS equipment management personnel in data centers. ”
Most data center applications allow 5 to 10 minutes of autonomy with UPS batteries. Trellis Power Insight can monitor up to 50 individual Liebert UPS systems and, in the event of a power outage disruption, shut down systematically and securely thousands of connected servers. Controlled server shutdown avoids damage to the equipment and preserves the continuity of the activity when restarted.
In addition, Trellis Power Insight provides real-time data, including voltage and current values for critical UPS performance. This information is consolidated and displayed in customized panels to centralize the management of all UPS systems.
