After the launch of Xiaomis Mi A1, an Android One smartphone, there will soon be another, with which one would not expect at first. The Moto X4 is to appear as Android One in the USA.
Android One means an Android operating system directly from Google with constant security updates and without any additional sniffing. In the case of the Moto X4, the software itself is already close, that is, you probably would hardly notice large differences beyond the timed no longer delayed updates. Android One, initially probably as a method in the lowest smartphone segment to deliver a pure Android on fixed hardware, has changed this year more to a Nexus alternative. The hardware is no longer prescribed and so the manufacturers are free to use it. The lower segment is now served with Android Go. For the Moto X4 in the USA, however, this also means access to the Google net (Google Fi).
Whether Android One Smartphones are also planned for the German market, is not yet foreseeable. It might be strongly dependent on the success of the various Android One models (there are probably also in Japan, Turkey, etc.), but a launch in the US is already a promising approach.
