iPhone 8: iOS 11 Gold Master points to missing home button

The Gold Master of Apple’s operating system iOS 11 contains images of an unknown Apple Watch. In addition, you can see how Apple wants to replace the missing home button on the iPhone 8. The Golden Master is the version, which is then usually also released as a final version for iPhone and iPad.

In the Apple Watch app the leaked Golden Master, there is a picture of an Apple Watch with a red dot on the Digital Crown. It is probably the upcoming model with LTE module. Otherwise, the Smartwatch – except for the color of the bracelet – looks like the first and second generation. In order to be able to go independently without iPhone into the net, the Apple Watch can obviously add to an existing telephone contract. It is then accessible under the same number as the iPhone. Also, there are references to promos from network operators.

Gestures replace the Home button

Not only the question of the appearance of the next Apple Watch answered the Golden Master, but also the home button of the iPhone 8. This is not there. Instead, Apple forces users to learn more gestures. At the bottom of the display there will be a navigation bar. Pulling up the bar will take you to the start screen. Longer dragging opens the App Switcher. Siri and Apple Pay will be called via the Power button.

And Apple seems to replace fingerprint recognition with a facial recognition: instead of TouchID, there will be FaceID in the future.

Officially, Apple will present all the innovations, including the OLED flagship iPhone 8 and the two smartphones with LCD display iPhone 7s and 7s Plus, on September 12th.
