The big Windows update is almost ready. Microsoft has announced the date it will start rolling out the global update: Oct. 17. It will probably take some days for notification to reach all users but it will be worth it. Even though developers are still working on final implementations, we already know the major release releases. Among them are HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, but most of all MR-based viewers, including recent Lenovo Explorer and Acer Windows Mixed Reality, now in Developer Edition, with many others coming in (Dell, HP, Asus) .

What changes

Terry Myerson, head of Windows Experience, told AFA in Berlin: “Microsoft’s mission is to help every person and company achieve their goals with ease, using Windows 10. Call to Mixed Reality is for both users and content makers, who will benefit from an easier way to publish their games and apps. At a functional level, we will see a menu dedicated to monitoring the performance of the graphics card and the arrival of a gaming mode (even for 3D slides) enhanced, with greater access to the parameters. In short, the Windows as a Service pathcontinues and seems to be the best way to introduce more frequent and interesting service packs .
