Archos Sense 55S with edgeless display – The French manufacturer Archos is represented with several smartphones at the IFA in Berlin. In addition to the low budget devices from the Access and Core series and the Diamond Alpha Plus, Archos also presented the Sense 55S with almost borderless display.

At this year’s IFA, Archos presented the new Low-Bugdet series Access and Core and the flagship Diamond Alpha Plus. Smartphones with almost borderless display have so far only been presented by renowned manufacturers as a top model.
Archos demonstrates with the Archos Sense 55S that these devices are also possible within the beginner class. Like the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S8, or the Xiaomi Mi Mix, the Archos 55S uses an “edge-to-edge” display. Archos had announced the smartphone already in June for the first time and presented again at the IFA.

While smartphones with almost borderless display with higher prices in the trade start, Archos shows that it also differently goes. The Archos Sense 55S costs just under 170 euros. In this price range, of course, no top hardware or exceptional features are expected. The Sense 55S is not only visually convincing, it also offers features which are otherwise much more expensive devices reserved.
The drive is powered by a MediaTek Octa core processor with 2 gigabytes of memory. Operation is via a 5.5-inch display with full HD resolution. Even a dual camera has Archos the Sense 55S donated. It provides with both Sony IXM219 lenses 8-megapixels. Selfies takes a 5 megapixel camera. A 3000 mAh battery ensures sufficient runtime. Pre-installed is Android 7.0 Nougat and even a USB Type C port is available. The Archos Sense 55S is expected to cost 169.
