Still this autumn, Libratone wants to make the Zipp speakers fit for Alexa, Amazons voice control.
On the one hand, there will be a skill for the echo and echo dot, with which the volume of the tilt can then only be matched to the call. At the same time, Alexa is also to be addressed via the Zipps. To do this, however, you must be located where the loudspeaker is located. Here, the activation of Alexa does not work with one of the usual solution words, but you have to touch the already touch-sensitive surface of the speakers, then you can express your wishes. Mediocre practical, but better than nothing. If there is such an action around the music control, the selection is of course limited. But – as was heard at the IFA, Amazon could soon permit that devices from other manufacturers via Alexa for example Spotify activate: wait.
In terms of AirPlay 2, Libratone is still on course. Without really knowing what Apple’s new streaming standard really does, the Zipps should get an update immediately after availability in order to integrate this service.
