After earning its first position in the worldwide ranking of vending devices for wearable devices in the first quarter of 2017, Xiaomi is also the industry leader in the second quarter. Overall sales hit 26.3 million units, confirming the positive trend, which saw a 10.3% growth over the second quarter of last year.
The first thing that leaps to the eye is the lack of Samsung from the list of top five wearers who behind Xiaomi see Apple standing apart from a few Units Fitbit, almost fitting, while Garmin and Fossil close the top 5 even if they are more detached.
The Cupertino giant, however, marks the biggest growth year on year, with a + 49.7%, almost the same percentage lost by Fitbit, which last year was the market leader. As for Samsung, things could improve thanks to the new wearing devices presented at IFA 2017, although competitors will not remain with their hands in hand.
