The Android 8.0 Oreo on YouTube picture-in-picture mode is available only for payment

One of the major innovations of Android 8.0 Oreo is picture-in-picture mode (PiP), although it may not be so much exploited and YouTube is an example.

If picture-in-picture mode can be used in many video watch applications, the popular Google streaming platform will not allow this feature to be used by all users, reserved only to those who subscribe to a YouTube Red service subscription.

This is a rather curious choice, especially if you consider Google advertise the picture-in-picture mode as one of the most important novelties of Android 8.0 Oreo.

Since YouTube Red is not globally available, this feature is only limited to some “lucky” countries (United States, Australia, South Korea, Mexico and New Zealand). In essence, picture-in-picture mode is not currently available for all users in other markets.

At this point, you still have to understand what Google will want to do in the coming months when Android 8.0 Oreo will begin to spread.
