Western Digital launches My Cloud Home and is preparing to debut the new app

Western Digital presents My Cloud Home, a new storage device that connects directly to your home Wi-Fi router, allowing you to save all of your data to a perfectly accessible place.

With My Cloud Home, you can automatically back up all data (including photos and videos of course) from your smartphone with the dedicated, incoming application; this is going to give you an update to My Cloud and allow you to access, upload and share your memories quickly. Obviously, you can access the device from your PC, using the My Cloud Home desktop app or MyCloud.com site.

My Cloud Home also has a USB port to quickly import files from external USB flash drives or external hard drives. For greater peace of mind, the My Cloud Home Duo version comes with two hard disks and is set in mirror mode (RAID 1), so all photos, videos, and files are stored on a drive and automatically duplicated on the second.

The device is compatible with Windows 7 (64-bit only), Mac OS X v10.10, Android 4.4 KitKat, and iOS 9 and of course their later versions. My Cloud Home is available in sizes from 2TB to 6TB at the starting price of 179.99 euros and in the 4TB to 20TB (Duo version) from 369.99 euros.
