Galaxy A5 (2017): Android 7.0 Nougat is rolled out

For the Galaxy A3 (2017) the update on Android 7.0 Nougat in Russia was already rolled out. The owner of the smartphone has to wait for this. In addition, Samsung is also rolling out Android Nougat in Germany for the Galaxy A5 (2017).

As you can read in the Android Help forum, some users have already received the update via OTA (Over-the-Air). The file has a size of about 1.3 gigabytes. Because of the size it is recommended to download the firmware only over a stable WLAN connection and charge the battery before.

New features with Android 7.0

Android Nougat comes with some new features. This includes multitasking and an optimized notification system. The new Doze mode is designed to save energy and the in-house user interface Samsung Experience 8.1 is on board. Samsung has significantly slimmed the surface compared to TouchWiz.

Furthermore the Galaxy A5 (2017) gets new performance modes. Depending on the mode, the display brightness, the clock rate of the processor or the quality of the video sound can be adjusted to save energy. The Always-on-Display will also receive new options. According to user reports, the fingerprint sensor should react more reliably after the update installation.
