Asus packs Ryzen CPU in a notebook

Asus has introduced a new gaming laptop: the ROG Strix GL702ZC. The notebook is the first ever equipped with a Ryzen AMD processor, the desktop version.

Up to 3.7 GHz, the processor can clock, cooled by two fans. The combination of laptop and desktop CPU according to Asus is possible due to the efficient architecture of the chip.

The display measures 17.3 “at full HD resolution, is anti-reflective and supports FreeSync.

The graphics card comes with the AMD Radeon RX580. The 3.2-pound notebook has a 1TB hard drive (unfortunately only 5,400 rpm) and an additional 256 GB SSD. The latter can be upgraded to 512 GB. An optical drive is not installed. The laptop is equipped with 1 x USB-Type-C (3.1) and three normal USB-3 ports. Other ports: HDMI, mDP and a headphone output. 16 GB of RAM are installed, the memory can be up to 32 GB.

The starting price is 1,400 euros, the notebook is pre-orderable. When the delivery takes place, Asus does not reveal.
