Fitbit watch: a product for sportsmen, not for fashionistas

Fitbit will enter the smartwatch market by the end of the year. The well-known manufacturer for his sports bracelets and activity trackers will undoubtedly remain in his comfort zone.

According to reports released this week by the Wareable site , the future Fitbit watch will look very similar to one of the brand’s trackers, the Blaze. Same square design and a priori even target: sportsmen. According to these images, the manufacturer should propose a measurement as precise as possible of the efforts of the wearer: the heart rate monitor is accompanied in fact by infrared sensors allowing to measure the level of oxygen in the blood.

No salvation outside sport

It is likely that we also find in this watch a GPS to make it as autonomous as possible of its smartphone (iPhone or Android). It will also be waterproof up to 50 meters and will work for several days. Three buttons will be present on the slices of the device, as on the Blaze. An application store will accompany the launch of the product.

At the design level, it is a small disappointment, it is far from the most elegant connected watches of the market. We did not expect such an effort from Fitbit, but the least we can say is that since the leaks, not many people find many aesthetic qualities in this smartwatch.

The Fitbit watch will be available in three colors: silver chassis with gray strap, pink gold frame with blue strap, and a darker model with black strap. In view of the renderings, it is not certain that we can change the bracelet.
