Nokia 3.5 and 6 Android 8.0 Oreo – Google had presented the new Android version 8.0 Oreo yesterday. Nexus and the Pixel series are the first to get the new firmware, but HMD Global also promises a quick update for the Nokia models Nokia 3, 5,6 and Nokia 8.
Android 8.0 Oreo should be distributed quickly
Google had presented Android 8.0 Oreo on Monday. At the same time, the new firmware was also released for Google Nexus and Pixel series models. It will probably be a few months in the country, until all current smartphones of other manufacturers to the benefit of Android 8.0 come.
Google itself has said as follows in the Android Developers blog: “We have been working closely with our partners for many months and until the end of the year, hardware manufacturers such as Essential, Huawei, HTC, Kyocera, Motorola, HMD Global, Samsung, Sharp And Sony to release new devices or upgrade to Android 8.0 Oreo. ”
HMD Global promises Android 8.0 for Nokia models
Smartphones, which have a nearly unchanged Android preinstalled, will be the first to get the new firmware. A cumbersome adaptation, for example, to the user interface, is not absolutely necessary. The Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6 and Nokia 8 currently still have Android 7.0 nougat on board. However, owners can look forward to an update on Android 8.0 soon.
As early as the beginning of August, HMD Global had released the current Google security patch for the Nokia 5 and Nokia 6, almost the same time with the availability of Google itself. This made HMD Global respond faster than other manufacturers. For the models Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6, HMD Global announced an update to Android 8.0 in June, reported Techradar. At the same time as the introduction of the Nokia 8, HMD Global had also announced an update for the new high-end model, but did not give a definitive timetable. Because the Nokia models do not require any modifications due to their operating system and require only a few adjustments, a quick update is expected. According to NokiaPowerUser the update for the Nokia 8 is already tested internally.
