Gigaset has presented with the GS270 a new smartphone of the simple middle class, which as a GS270 plus with more RAM and flash memory, but otherwise identical to the basic variant is. The models fall above all due to the lush battery and are located above the starter model GS170.
5.000 mAh battery needs four hours of charging time
One of the most striking features of the GS270 (Plus) is the large battery: 5,000 mAh nominal charge should provide for two days of use without recharging, which should be done quickly thanks to fast charging technology with 2 amps at 5 volts – so at least the advertising. Because in the company blog it says, a complete charge takes about four hours. In addition, according to Gigaset, the smartphone can also be used as a Powerbank via USB On-the-Go to charge other devices. It is also possible to connect USB sticks or hard disks, mice and keyboards.
Plus model with more memory
The GS270 has two GB of working and 16 GB of user memory, the plus model adds one GB and doubles the internal memory. This is expandable with microSD card up to 128 GB. If a memory card is not used, a second nano-SIM card can also be used. Android 7.0 Nougat is used as the operating system.
The screen of the model measures 5.2 inches and offers full-HD resolution, resulting in a high pixel density of 424 ppi. The display is protected from the slightly convex glass (2.5D), which according to the manufacturer is ” diamanthart “. However, it is not known which company the protection comes from. An additional coating is used to reduce grease residues on the screen.
Photos takes the Gigaset GS270 with a 13-megapixel camera on the back or a counterpart with 5 megapixels on the front. A picture-in-picture mode should also allow you to take a photo with both cameras at the same time. Videos are recorded in full HD.
Multi-purpose fingerprint sensor
As a special feature, Gigaset highlights the fingerprint sensor on the back. This is intended not only to unlock the smartphone, but also allow to allocate up to five fingerprints certain functions. Examples include scrolling in the browser, calling or taking pictures, or switching off the alarm clock.
Prices and availability
The models Gigaset GS270 and GS270 Plus appear in mid-September at prices of 199 euros and 229 euros respectively. Both models are available in the color gray, the plus model also in blue.
