Nokia 8 with Carl Zeiss camera – Although licensor HMD already presented some smartphones with the Nokia logo this year, however, a Preminium device was missing so far. With the Nokia 8, HMD Global has now introduced the first high-end Android smartphone. Special features of the Nokia 8 are a dual camera from Carl Zeiss and pre-installed pure Android (Stock Android).
Nokia 8 with stock Android and Carl Zeiss camera
According to the mid-range models Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6, the Finnish manufacturer had also announced a high-end smartphone for this year for some time. HMD Global has just launched the premium model Nokia 8.
The Nokia 8 has in contrast to the previously existing three Nokia models, finally again a camera with Carl Zeiss technology on board and as firmware pure Android (Stock Android) preinstalled.
5.3 inch QHD display
The Nokia 8 is operated via a 5.3-inch display with QHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels). An always-on display, but only in the upper screen area, also shows the time, battery status or messages in the idle mode. The high-quality case has a back of glossy polished aluminum. On the front side is the Homebutton with fingerprint sensor. The Nokia 8 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with 4 gigabytes of memory.
The main camera on the back has two lenses (dual camera) and the Carl Zeiss logo. The 13 megapixel camera records photos in color and black and white. A special feature is “Bothies”, with both main and front camera being used at the same time. Video and photos, as well as selfies can be combined with each other. Pre-installed is Android 7.1.1 as Stock Android, so updates should not be long in coming. Market launch will be in September at the price of 599 euros.
