Huawei P10 Update with MirrorLink – The current Huawei flagship, Huawei P10, receives a comprehensive update with some new features. Among other things, the 600 MB update provides VoLTE, VoWiFi and MirrorLink. MirrorLink connects the smartphone to the MirrorLink car, which allows access to various functions such as navigation or music.
Huawei P10: Update with new features
With the new nearly 600 Megabyte large update for the Huawei P10 users get among other things VoLTE, VoWiFi and the MirrirLink. The latter offers the possibility to connect to the own car optional with MirrorLink.
VW, Skoda or Honda, for example, are available in their cars MirrorLink. By connecting smartphone cars, the navigation buttons of the P10 are assigned instructions. This allows access to music, navigation and other smartphone applications. The instructions are displayed on the navigation screen of the car and a sound is reproduced via the vehicle loudspeaker.
According to the Huaweiblog, the update is distributed via Over the Air and has a size of about 582 megabytes. A prerequisite is that the firmware VTR-L09C432B150 from June 2017 is located on the Huawei P10. The new firmware VTR-L09C432B162 is still based on Android 7.0 nougat and EMUI 5.1.
A compatible car can be linked to the smartphone via MirrorLink, the operation is then via the car screen. According to Huawei, MirrorLink is therefore also more secure. To use VoLTE or VoWiFi and to determine if these features are supported, you should contact the local network operator. Furthermore, the update adds the current Google security patch and provides better system stability. If the update is causing problems, Huawei will provide the Customer Hotline or the Huawei Service Center as a help.
