Huawei Band 2 Pro: Fitness tracker with GPS from the end of August for 99 euros

Huawei has announced the Fitness Tracker Band 2 Pro for Germany. The Wearable is to be used mainly by a large number of sensors and particularly athletes. Compatible is the sports strap with Android and iOS.

The Huawei Band 2 Pro is designed to be comfortable for everyday use due to the low weight of 21 grams and the 19.7 millimeter wide case. The frame around the display is made of stainless steel. Huawei does not give any information about the material of the bracelet, but it is described as elastic.

Many sensors and autarkic GPS

For the screen, Huawei uses P-OLED technology. Under the hood are sensors for pulse measurement, an infrared sensor, an acceleration sensor and stand-alone GPS. Thus, the tape 2 Pro can record distances traveled completely without a smartphone.

Compatible is the tracker with Android from version 4.4 as well as iOS 8.0 or later. As an operating system runs RTOS, operated by an unspecified Cortex-M4 processor. Notifications from the smartphone, such as calls, are displayed. Whether this is also applicable to third-party apps, the announcement does not appear. Also a wake-up function is on board.

The Huawei Band 2 Pro is expected to be available at the end of August and will cost 99 Euros with a black sports strap.
