The Moto X4 is to be operated via a 5.2-inch display with full-HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels). It is still unclear whether an OLED or an IPS panel comes into question. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset with eight ARM Cortex-A53 cores with a maximum of 2.2 gigahertz clock rate and 4 gigabytes of memory should drive the smartphone. The processor is produced by the 14 nanometer method.

On the back should be a dual camera with 12- and 8-megapixels, respectively, which provides an f / 2.0 or f / 2.2 aperture.
