Opera Max removed from the Play Store, but the service will remain active indefinitely

With a completely unexpected move  Opera has removed its Opera Max app  from the Play Store, shortly justifying its decision with a lapidary post on the official blog. Just over three years after the debut in the winter of 2014, the well-known VPN service has disappeared, which reduces the amount of data consumed during navigation.

Opera’s decision is dictated by the desire to focus solely on its browsers and  Opera Max represented a product that differed substantially from what is considered the company’s mission. No updates will be released for the application that will no longer be downloadable from the Play Store but will continue to run indefinitely.

For the time being, Opera Max users   will continue to use the dedicated application and servers and will be alerted by the developer about the complete cessation of the media. If you are looking for a new VPN app, we remind you to pay close attention to your choice, as we have reported a few months ago that many unknown developer applications are infected with trojan and malware of various kinds.
