IPhone 8 3D Face Detection – Smartphones are now equipped with a fingerprint sensor or Irisscanner so that when a smartphone is lost, private files can not reach strangers. According to a report Apple continues with the iPhone 8 one more step. A 3D face detection should be integrated as a security feature.
IPhone with 3D face detection
Apparently the Jubilee model of Apple, iPhone 8, put on security. Apple is currently working on a special 3D sensor, which recognizes the owner of the iPhone by its appearance.
As Bloomberg reports, the premium model from Apple could offer with a 3D face recognition. Quite realistic, because in previous reports, the KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had already claimed that Touch ID for unlocking and logging in the iPhone 8 is no longer used.
Access by unauthorized persons hardly possible
Because Apple’s Touch ID is unlocked by 3D face detection, unauthorized access is almost impossible and Apple Pay is also safer. Supposedly the sensor of the 3D face detection works much faster and is also more accurate. According to the report, a detection of the owner takes only milliseconds.
Even if the iPhone 8 would lie flat on the table, a function is guaranteed. The 3D face detection should register more data during the test than is possible with a scan with the fingerprint sensor. In addition, it seems to be impossible to use a photo without a spatial depth (3D), as is often reported earlier, in normal face detection. Still is not sure whether Apple this feature already integrated into the iPhone 8, because currently the sensor is still tested.
