Galaxy S8 Mini planned – Samsung’s top models from the Galaxy S series have always had XXL displays in recent years. For years the manufacturer had, like for example Sony with the Xperia X Compact, no stripped version of a top model more started. According to rumors, this could change with the Galaxy S8 Mini.
Galaxy S8: Does Samsung have a mini version?
Three years ago, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini had brought the last compact version of a top model into the market. Neither the Galaxy S6 nor the Galaxy S7 there was a stripped down version of the respective smartphones. Other mini-versions were launched with a new name, including the Galaxy A-Series.
As is apparent from the reports of IT Home and gsmarena, Samsung seems to work on a smaller version of its current top model Galaxy S8. It is expected that a release of a Galaxy S8 mini, at least for the time being, only in South Korea.
5.3 inches in 18.5: 9 format
As the report shows, the supposedly planned Galaxy S8 Mini is to have a 5.3-inch Infinity display. This does not sound like a mini-version at the first moment, but the smartphone has a considerably smaller screen ratio of 18.5: 9. Interesting is a Galaxy S8 mini for buyers, which the current Galaxy S8 appears too unwieldy.
Instead of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor as in the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, the Galaxy S8 Mini is to be powered by a Snapdragon 821 chipset and an Adreno 530 GPU. The flash memory could have a size of 32 gigabytes and the memory can be 4 gigabytes. The Galay S8 Mini should also have a 12-megapixel camera and an Irisscanner. Information on the price and the date of release are not known to date. A distribution is probably, at least for the time being, rather in the home country of the manufacturer.
