Snapdragon 835, Motomods and resistant screen: Motorola presents the Moto Z2 Force

Motorola has just presented its flaghship for this year 2017. Despite a solid technical record, the brand still tries to differentiate itself.

After passing under the lap of Lenovo, Motorola starts off again with its products of the range Moto. The latter has been reduced to two models: The Moto Z2 Play and the Moto Z2 Force, unveiled at a New York event.

Normally reserved only for the customers of the operator Verizon, it is placed on the segment of the high-end. The nickname “Force” comes from the design of its Amoled slab (WQHD 2560 x 1440 px) resistant to shocks, which Motorola guarantees as unbreakable. Attention however, it is quite possible to scratch it, which is not covered by the mark. It is also a shame not to have made it waterproof, which becomes the case of the majority of other high-end smartphones.

Hardware has little to envy its competitors. There is a Snapdragon 835 processor (8 cores Kryo 280), 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of expandable storage via MicroSD. For the photo, we will be entitled to a double sensor of 12 Mpx (opening f / 2) including a color and a monochrome. In the front, one will content itself with a sensor of 5M px. The battery has undergone the general slimming cure of the phone since it now displays 2730 mAh. It is found that the jack is absent, and that one will have to turn to the bluetooth, an adapter or headphones USB type C.

Motorola had promised, the device is compatible with the Moto Mods, which represents a real asset for the aficionados of the firm. A mod 360 camera, which will allow to film at 360 ° (up to 4 K at 24 fps), but also take shots in very wide angle (at 150 °) or enjoy a 3D sound. The mobile should be sold at around $ 720 in the US, where it is scheduled for August 10. For the moment no information has filtered for the hexagon.
