After the security of the Gamescom has been intensified increasingly in recent years, Koelnmesse is now announcing changes. Especially cosplayers were drastically restricted, with a ban on weapon applications. The Gamescom 2017 will take place from 23 to 26 August.
Special rules for cosplayers
The Cologne fair sees the cosplay scene as an integral part of the Gamescom. The increasingly growing community is therefore concerned with this year’s Gamescom with separate regulations. Contrary to the previous year – here, in the wake of increased global terrorism, weapons replicas were forbidden – the trade fair loosens the rules for cosplayers and permits the wearing of weapons tapes under conditions.
In a fixed set of rules (PDF), the fair explicitly stipulates prohibitions and permissions as well as behavioral rules. In addition to the nature of weapons, there are also regulations for the costumes as such. These may not exceed, for example, a maximum height of 3.20 meters. Cosplayers are also encouraged to use the North and South entrances with “props” / “weapon” cheats, where the utensils can be registered.
If Cosplayers are unsure about the admissibility of their costumes, a support e-mail ( firstname.lastname@example.org ) is ready, which can be inquired by means of a photo.
Leave bags and backpacks at home if possible
In order to ensure an increased degree of security, bags and backpacks are further intensified. In order to shorten waiting times, the Koelnmesse advises to leave those, if not absolutely necessary, at home.
Despite new structure, strong visitor expectancy expected
According to the measurement dates changed this year, a strong visitor rank is already apparent in the course of ticket sales. All day passes for the Mass Day are already out of print, so that you can refer to other dates, as well as afternoon and family visits.
