According to Slender: The Arrival and Valley, the Canadian indie studio Blue Isle has announced the next game. Citadel: Forged With Fire is a fantasy sandbox MMORPG, which will be released via Steam on July 26th. The trailer for the Open World game is reminiscent of a mix of Skyrim and Harry Potter.
In the 36-kilometer world of Ignus, the player slips into the role of a sorcerer’s apprentice. The goal is “to make a name for themselves and to gain fame and power among the ruling houses.” The game is obviously not a pure MMO because description and system requirements indicate a single player mode. The technical basis is the Unreal Engine 4.
Spells, dragons and locks
With the spells learned, it is necessary to take up the fight against beasts or other players. Creatures can be tamed and thus made companion – this is again reminiscent of the sandbox success ARK: Survival Evolved. Thus, for example, enemy fortresses should be besieged with “a horde of wild orcs”; Horses, shadow wolves or even dragons serve as riding animals.
Cooperatively, players can join forces to build their own “house” and build “huge castles” with common resources to wage war with other houses. The “dream lock” should be composed of “hundreds of components” by editor. As can be seen in the video, the buildings can be disassembled as destructively into their individual parts.
The magician’s equipment includes magic wand and magic weapons. In addition, an “almost infinite” variety of Loot is promised, which can be captured in the adventures. Riding on a broomstick also reminds the Harry Potter novels of fantasy fans. By means of magic potion, the player should finally slip through the air without such an aid.
System requirements are still spongy
The system requirements are still not very precise, which is presumably due to the early stage of development. The processor is only the clock, not the generation and the core number. The graphics card is at least a useful indication in the form of a GeForce GTX 950 or a comparable model as the minimum.
Beta access before release
There will be a pre-release beta test for the official start on Steam on July 26th. The first wave of players will be received by e-mail keys from tomorrow’s July 14th. You must first register for the beta test via the home page of the game.
On July 26, the official start of the early access phase will be on Steam. A price has not been mentioned so far.
