Google strongly believes in the possibilities of virtual reality as demonstrated at the past conference for I / O developers in which it announced the Wordense technology for scanning real-world environments and the future launch of new VR-independent viewers from the smartphone. Today Big G has made available a new platform called Google Blocks that allows access to a suite of tools for 3D modeling and virtual rendering.
Google Blocks allows you to create characters, animals, and objects in three dimensions by composing them using different shape and color polygons and simple and intuitive modeling tools. The graphics are very much reminiscent of Minecraft and the models can then be shared to show them to the developer community and inspire new ideas. The suite is available for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Steam, which last week exceeded 67 million users a month and 33 million daily. Google Blocks is open to all but requires a PC with minimum requirements: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 or higher, Intel Core i5-4590 processor, 4GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 or AMD Radeon R9 290 video card, at least 1GB Of free disk space.
