Facebook tests a new tool to protect the profile image

Facebook is continually seeking to implement features that can provide us with the most satisfying experience possible. It has recently launched a test of a new privacy tool: it is a profile picture guard called Profile picture guard and available in India.

The profile image protection tool has been designed to protect users, especially women, who fear that their photo may be used inappropriately. The issue is rather relevant in India – that is why the test phase started right from this country – where various protection mechanisms have been introduced:

Other users can not download or share the profile image;
Other users (non-friends) can not tag or tagged in the profile image;
Other users can not make screenshots of the profile image (but the feature is currently only available on Android).

Profile pictures protected by the Profile picture guard option will be enclosed in a box and marked by a blue shield. It is clear that such a tool could turn out to be easy, but Facebook claims that protected photos have 75% less chance of being copied. Would you like to see the function also in Italy?
