Good news if you travel regularly on the TGV, Orange has just announced that from July 13, the Paris-Tours-Bordeaux, Paris-Le Mans-Rennes and Paris-Lille axes will be (almost) entirely covered in 4G. The Channel Tunnel has also been covered.
Orange also boasts of being the only operator to offer such coverage of the TGV lines cited. This announcement is not surprising since it accompanies the gradual arrival of WiFi in the TGV. Indeed, the SNCF relies on the 4G network of Orange to deliver WiFi in the various trainsets. It is therefore not surprising to see Orange announce that the network is ready before the launch of the service of connection to the Internet in the TGV.

However, if the Paris-Tours-Bordeaux, Paris-Le Mans-Rennes and Paris-Lille routes are covered, only the tunnels do not benefit from 4G. “A good excuse to avoid calls,” Orange reminds me. And since we talk about tunnels, Orange has finally covered the Channel Tunnel in 4G, in the Paris-London direction. Previously it was only covered in 3G.
