Facebook shares user data WhatsApp and Instagram to fight terrorism

The Facebook team has decided to declare war on terrorism and, through a post on its blog, has announced that it is sharing Instagram and WhatsApp users data.

Particularly among the goals of Facebook would be collaboration between platforms, so that we can analyze the data of the users of these two popular services with an overview.

Monika Bickert and Brian Fishman have explained that the social network has started working on systems to counter the action of any terrorists trying to exploit the various Facebook apps for their purposes.

Given the small amount of data collected from various Facebook apps, sharing between them becomes crucial to making the ecosystem safer.

It remains to be understood what the real consequences of the new Facebook policy will be and whether the WhatsApp encryption system will be “weakened” to make this application less “attractive” to terrorists.
