ASUS, MSI and Colorful release maps for mining on NVIDIA chips

NVIDIA and its partners are preparing to AIB-issue special cards for cryptocurrency production. According to foreign colleagues VideoCardz, the initiative comes from above (Santa Clara), but at the same time, the graphics card manufacturers will be designed on the basis of the reference accelerator own decisions – as is the case with ordinary GeForce 10. Models chips Pascal GP104-100 and GP106 -100 promise to be more effective parts of mining than conventional GeForce – an amount of 10 to 30%. How this will be achieved is not specified. It is expected that the warranty on the card for mining will be three months.

ASUS plans to release appears Mining-P106-6G model based on GPU GP106-100. For several reasons, GeForce brand is not used, and the most obvious one – no video output and, consequently, the possibility of playing games. ASUS Accelerator looks very similar to the graphics card Expedition GeForce GTX 1060 6G (EX-GTX1060-6G) and operates on the same frequencies – 1506-1708 / 2002 (8008) MHz (core / memory). The structure of new items are the same stream processor 1280, the 192-bit memory bus and 6 GB GDDR5 buffer memory. Auxiliary power is supplied via a 6-pin connector PCI-E Power. Dimensions of the device are 240 × 131 × 38 mm.

ASUS has not yet decided to introduce a single-slot card P106, fearing declining interest to enthusiasts cryptocurrency. The factory unsold accelerators are likely to be finalized before the game models Expedition GeForce GTX 1060 6G.

Maps MSI P104-100 8G and P106-100 6G, respectively, based on the usual the MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Aero 8G and GeForce GTX 1060 6GT OC / OCV1. Configuration and graphics core frequency of new adapters remains to be seen. Not clear is how easy it is to break up these and similar card designed exclusively for mining.

Colorful P106-100 WK1 / WK2 as well as MSI P106-100 6G, close to the family of GeForce GTX 1060 (those who prepared the sketch forgotten “erase» DVI connector on the rear panel) and works at the recommended frequencies. Device dimensions are 220 × 125 × 40 mm under a load consumes up to 120 watts.

We believe that the P104-100 and P106-100 release have to wait long, because the producers need to have time to sell enough cards before they commit cryptocurrency steep dive against the dollar. Does it happen today, tomorrow or in five years, to predict, perhaps, nobody can.
