System stability when overclocking we checked stress utility Prime95 29.1 build 16 and other benchmarks, and monitoring was carried out with the help of HWiNFO64 5.51-3145 versions and newer.

The processor is also operating normally, and even in the initial version of the BIOS 1.40 demonstrated complete stability under load, despite the relatively high peak voltage – 1,280 V.
The maximum temperature of the processor does not exceed the mark of 49 degrees Celsius, which we consider a very good indicator.
Further, the motherboard BIOS has been updated to version 2.30, and we immediately began to study its overclocking abilities. Knowing from previous tests of motherboards based on AMD X370, that within our instance AMD Ryzen July 1700 is somewhere in the 3.9 GHz mark, we immediately started with this frequency, selecting the voltage level and LLC (Load-Line Calibration). After several hours of tests, it was found that the system passes all the tests without any errors in the processor voltage and 1.2925 in the second level of stabilization.
The maximum temperature of the processor after two long Prime95 test cycles reached 65.9 degrees Celsius.
A very good result, but we will stay in this is not going to. And then there were some interesting things. We exposed the processor frequency 3,925, 3,950 or even 4,000 GHz while increasing the voltage to different values - and stability tests, including Prime95, on ASRock X370 Taichi managed to successfully complete, but in the performance tests, we observed a decrease in performance, not their increase, as they should expect. As if the fire CPU overheating protection, or something else like that, although the temperature still does not exceed the mark of 70 degrees Celsius, and as a result of the further dispersal affects system performance negatively. Therefore, we switched to overclock RAM.
And here ASRock X370 Taichi could not express themselves as well as the ASUS ROG Crosshair VI Hero earlier, as the next step – the frequency of 3200 MHz – the same memory kit in any did not run on the board ASRock. Nor with automatic timings, or to manually inflated fee just does not start. Of course, this is only a special case of a combination with a particular pair of modules, and other memory models result may well be above. Therefore, everything we had on – is to try to understate the memory timings at the frequency of 2933 MHz. As a result, with 16-17-17-35 CR1 timings were reduced to 16-16-16-28 CR1.
Of course, this result can not be considered outstanding, because in the “iron” forums are increasingly found reviews of the performance of certain memory modules on the new AMD platform with 3.2 GHz and timings of 14-14-14-26. What is interesting, in spite of the slightly less high-speed memory, the platform with the base in the form of a motherboard ASRock X370 Taichi manages to get ahead of the same configuration with the ASUS ROG Crosshair VI Hero in tests HWBOT x265 and CINEBENCH R15. But in other tests the advantage of a more expensive motherboard ASUS minimum.
