Galaxy A3 and A5 (2016) received Android 7.0 nougat

As evidenced by various user reports from the Android Help forum, Samsung has begun updating an update to Android 7.0 Nougat for the older models from 2016, Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5.

The upgrade is currently distributed only for smartphones without provider branding. The 950 megabyte update comes over the the-air (OTA) to the owners of the devices. Whether an update is already available can be checked in the menu under “Manually download device settings updates”. It is advisable to use a stable wireless connection to download and a full battery.

New features

Android 7.0 Nougat comes with an improved “Doze” mode. This ensures a longer running time. Within standby mode, power consumption is reduced by ignoring all wakelocks from apps. The previous Samsung TouchWiz user interface is made much easier. For example, messages are displayed in bundled form and take the entire display aside. In addition, the multi-Windows mode is optimized.

New performance modes and more efficient storage space for installing downloaded apps are additional features. The Galaxy A3 (2016) is currently available in the online trade from 179 euros with coupon code, otherwise from 190 euros. The Galaxy A5 (2016) is available for just under 260 euros at Amazon.
