Amazon is to work on a new mobile phone. But this seems to come without an important Amazon feature.
Es was probably one of the least popular smartphones in recent years: Less than 35,000 Fire phones to have sold Amazon. About three years ago Amazon’s smartphone came on the market – and disappeared a year later. The bogus seems to want to forget this bustier: Amazon is supposed to work on a new smartphone, Gadgets 360 reports . The device is supposed to carry the name “Ice Phone” and thus obviously the exact opposite of the Firephones.
Ice Phone without a language assistant Alexa?
According to the report, the Ice Phone could actually be delivered without Amazon’s language assistant Alexa. Instead the Google Assistant is supposed to be on board. That would be an indication that Amazon at least learned from his mistakes: The Firephone was also so unpopular because it did not provide access to the Google Play Store. This partially restricted the app selection. If Amazon is now closer to Google with his next phone, this could be a solution to this problem.
This is the Ice Phone
According to the source of Gadgets 360, the Ice Phone is supposed to be equipped with Android 7.1.1 and a Snapdragon 435 chipset. In addition, the device has apparently 2 GB of memory, a fingerprint sensor and a 13-megapixel camera. The internal memory may be rather modest: only 16 GB should be available internally. Whether the memory is expandable is so far unknown. According to rumors, the smartphone is still to come to the market in 2017, but only once in India. It is quite possible that Amazon is trying with the device to conquer the markets in this and other emerging markets. Also the price speaks for it: The Ice Phone should be converted only 80 euros (6,000 Indian Rupees).
