How to listen to YouTube off-screen or background music on Android (no root)

Tired of keeping the display on your smartphone to listen to a song on YouTube, or you need to leave the application to work with other services during video listening? Here then is that this tutorial should do the trick.

Thanks to a Reddit user who discovered this “trick” we can finally listen to music on YouTube screen off or in the background , at least until Google will solve the situation. The procedure is very simple and does not require root permissions, but only a pair of headphones or earphones any.

First open the video you want to hear official YouTube application for Android (in 12:19:56 or 12:21:57 version ) and skip any advertising. Once your video has begun, press the home key or lock the screen. Now connect your earphones, press the play button on the headphones, and like magic you will activate the audio of the video previously played, the second in which it was stopped.

Now you can pause at will the audio of the video and play it off-screen, or using other applications simultaneously. The operation was also successfully tested by our team with both of the above versions of YouTube, so long as Google will not fix this bug (if it is a bug) you can use this trick in comfort.

Are you happy to finally be able to listen to music on YouTube screen off or in the background of your Android smartphone?
