As with its predecessors, Samsung is also introducing a limited edition edition of the current top model Galaxy S8. Just in time for the launch of the film “Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Salazar’s Revenge”, the Galaxy S8 is only available in China as a special edition for the time being.

The special edition was designed in collaboration with the Disney film studios and offers extravagant packaging as well as themes for the film.

Technical data remain the same

According to the fifth part of the Pirates of the Caribbean film series, the Galaxy S8 is equipped with Wallpapers to the film. On the Homescreen, Johnny Depp, who plays the pirate Jack Sparrow in the film, is depicted. In addition, the buttons below the display are all set to themes for the movie. An additional protective sleeve shows a skull on the back.

The interior life of the special edition does not differ from the “normal” Galaxy S8. Only the user interface is based on the film design. For this, the packaging is a piece of cake. If this is opened, a “treasure” comes to light. A ring holder can be attached to the back of the unit. Currently the Galaxy S8 “Pirates of the Caribbean” is only available in China. In the Chinese online shop, the smartphone is listed for 5988 yuan (circa 780 euros).
