ClayXYZ: a 3D printer that uses clay as a carving material

Clay XYZ is a 3D printer designed by artist John Fray, who uses clay as a sculpting material.

Combining traditional and modern methods

With a print volume of 210 x 220 x 180 mm, the printer makes it possible to create all sorts of objects, several of which are available on Thingiverse (cups, bowls, small sculptures, etc.). Once the object is printed, you can rework the design by hand to add details or simply varnish before going to the oven.

Equipped with an extrusion system that deposits clay on a tray, the printer uses a compressor capable of removing air bubbles from the clay in order to increase its accuracy from 0.2 to 0, 8 mm. Compatible with several models of FDM printers, you just need to buy the clay-laying module to complete your printer, if you already have one.

Include $ 699 for 3D Printer, Extrusion System and Tool Box. The extrusion device alone is proposed from $ 399.
