While Samsung is already speculating on when Samsung will bring the active, thus the outdoor version of the S8 to the market, competitor LG publishes the X Venture, a new smartphone for use in wind and weather: certified according to IP68. In addition, the X Venture successfully passed numerous stress tests according to military standards: extreme temperatures, for example, but also sinking in the water (one and a half meters, 30 minutes long). The last year’s competition from Samsung had failed miserably right here, before reworked.
On the X Venture is also an app called “Outdoor Essentials” preinstalled, in which six functions are bundled: barometer, compass, fitness tracking, sports tracking, Weather information and a flashlight. The back of the smartphone is non-slip, the metal frame.
Similar to Samsung so far, LG is using real buttons for the outdoor device to guarantee the operation under adverse conditions. Three of them are attached below the display, the “Quick Button” on the left side of the frame. This button can trigger different things, for example starting the already mentioned app Outdoor Essentials. “The decisive factor, the length of the pressure is on the button.
Whether there will be in Germany, the X venture is not yet clear, first comes the phone Only in the US, but certain countries in Europe, Asia and Africa, the Middle East and Latin America are expected to follow.
