Google Maps and Search: Reviews are automatically translated

A new feature in Google Maps and the search automatically translates reviews of foreign points-of-interest into the set device language. This is to help abroad in the evaluation and search of, for example, restaurants.

In order to keep the review and overview of the actual review, the original text is displayed under the translated review. In this way, the content can be directly matched. According to Google, this is the way to copy and translate individual passages or words with other apps. In a first test, however, the translation with regard to grammar and syntax was only partially correct. For example, “Not going to lie” was translated as “Do not go to lie”.
