Samsung has introduced an Android app with In-Traffic Reply, which sends automatic answers while driving by car or bike. This is intended to reduce the driver’s distraction and inform the contacts of a potentially later response.
The app was developed by Samsung’s Benelux branch. By evaluating sensory data like primarily GPS, the application is to be able to see whether the smartphone user is traveling by car or bicycle and thus automatically send responses for his own security. In addition to the standard message “I am currently driving, therefore I can not answer at the moment”, you can specify an animated response or a separate text, not described in detail.
No new idea
The idea is not entirely new, many smartphone manufacturers offer an automatic detection of the movement and thus enable the automatic response with predefined messages. Currently, the app is in a beta phase and is scheduled to appear on the Google Play Store in May. Another alternative to using in the car is Android Auto, which has a customized navigation interface and the focus on voice control since October as a standalone app.
