With the ZenFone Live, Asus is offering a new, low-priced smartphone aimed especially at people who want to stream on social networks and post selfs. The technology and software of the 5-inch smartphone are outdated.
Particularly highlighted is the so-called “BeautyLive” function, which should provide self-portraits for embellished pictures. For Selfies is a 5-megapixel camera with LED and 82-degree wide-angle lens and an aperture of f / 2.2 available. The camera sensor is 1.4 μm in size and should be more sensitive to light. The main camera resolves with 13 megapixels, the aperture is f/2.0. Asus also emphasizes the sound quality of the loudspeaker thanks to an additional, sly amplifier as well as the high-quality recording capability by two microphones with noise suppression. Also an FM radio is on board.
Technically rather cautious
In contrast, the technology plays a more cautious role with regard to the targeted strengths and the cost of EUR 179. The 120-gram smartphone is operated via a 5-inch touchscreen with 720 × 1.280 pixel resolution. The calculations include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, which was already installed in smartphones in 2014. Asus speaks of four cores, so that the variant with four Cortex-A7 cores can be emanated. This is still manufactured in 28 nm and is not 64-bit capable. The processor aside 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal eMMC memory (expandable with microSD).
