Vodafone: LTE with 500 Mbit / s goes to the start

Vodafone LTE with 500 Mbit / s – On May 12, 2017, Vodafone switches the switch and starts in the first regions with LTE speeds of up to 500 Mbps. The new speeds are valid for both new and existing customers and can be used by post and prepaid customers.
Vodafone LTE with 500 Mbps

The speed boost announced in the Vodafone mobile network at the end of March is officially available from 12 May 2017. As the company announced, customers of the network operator will soon be able to surf the LTE network at up to 500 Mbps.

The innovation applies not only to new customers, but can also be used by existing customers. Vodafone also does not make a distinction between postpaid and prepaid customers; both customer groups can access the fast data rates of up to 500 Mbps.

However, there are a lot to consider. At the beginning, the company only supplies Dusseldorf with up to 500 Mbps and also there only so-called hotspots, ie places where regularly many customers are staying, for example the main station. Over the next few months, additional cities are to be added. By the end of the year, the fast data rates are planned in 30 cities, including Dortmund, Erfurt, Dresden and Stuttgart.

However, even in the start-up cities, not every customer can automatically access up to 500 Mbit / s, but needs a smartphone already enabled. The Sony Xperia XZ belongs to the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus as well as the Sony Xperia XZ Premium are just fit for the speed thrust. Other devices are to follow gradually.

Further information will be available soon at www.vodafone.de.
