Telecom customers can now access the improved voice transmission HD Voice plus in the LTE network. “After the company has already successfully established HD Voice as the standard for telephony for its IP and mobile customers, HD VoicePlus has now been activated with a new technology for voice in the LTE network,” explains Telekom. “Network-wide calls will soon be possible.”

HD VoicePlus is based on the Enhanced Voice Services (EVS) codec specified by the 3GPP and GSMA standardization bodies as an innovative and efficient successor codec for the codec used for HD Voice. The voice transmission now no longer takes place in the 7 KHz frequency range, but is extended to 20 KHz, the entire audible frequency range of the human being.
