Galaxy S8: language assistant Bixby earliest from October fully usable

For some days now we know the Samsung Galaxy S8 – Samsung’s new flagship and the first important smartphone since last year’s debacle on the Galaxy Note 7. The Galaxy S8 and the slightly larger Galaxy S8 + are, of course, backed up under the roof with fine technology, however Samsung wants to make the smartphone prospects also through a very important software feature to purchase: Bixby – so the new language assistant and intelligent helper on the device, is intended to support you contextually and have more on the pan than it is, for example, Siri or the Google Assistant.

Whether this is indeed the case, we can not find in Germany at all. This is because the AI is initially not designed for German language and the full range of functions for the time being only opens up to Koreans and people who use Bixby in English. Samsung did not give us an appointment for the localized version yet at the launch event, but now the support has spoken. There you can read:

When will the Bixby features of the Galaxy S8/S8 + be fully available in Germany?

The full functionality of Bixby is expected to be available in the fourth quarter of 2017 in Germany.

Probably from the fourth quarter of 2017” means that the German-speaking service and therefore the full range of functions is available from October for Galaxy S8 owners. Worst of all, it can also be December and the word “expected” should be kept in the back of the head.

Now we have finally a first announcement and a corresponding time window, but unfortunately also the certainty that this function will reveal itself to us in half a year in its full splendor. Some features of Bixby can of course be used before, the language functions you have to wait just a few months.

Always on the move... Love to blog, write about smartphones, technology and telecoms. I also like to snowboard, when I have the time :p I'll be around for a while so, be prepared.
